Hi all, European twitchers perhaps now have the possibility to catch up with WP's5th ever GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL at Århus, Denmark (two hours drive by car fromthe German border). Log on to www.netfugl.dk to see the latest pictures of the bird. The almost infamous 4th winter bird has stayed for 82 days at Århus now (the2nd largest city in Denmark), but it has almost NOT been seen during thatperiod! It has only been recorded on these fours dates: 27th November, 21st Decemberand on 14th-15th February. The two former dates were brief stays at the hugeÅrhus Harbour (where you can find 1000's of gulls), but during Sunday andMonday it was suddently rediscovered at an inland site (5 km. from thecoast, near the western parts of Århus) at the far east end of the lake,Brabrand Sø, where the river Århus Å runs out from the lake towards Århus. The bird was seen here on Sunday during 11:50-13:10 hours, and today we werejust seven birders, including German twitcher Martin Gotshcling fromBremen, waiting for it for four hours, when it suddently landed at 11:29hours in front of us. It flew off east at 12:45 hours. The site holds justsome 50-150 gulls and a lots of mallards, since people go here to feed theducks. Also here, you can see Smews, Bitterns and Short-toed Treecreepers. There is a good chance, that the gull will show up here on Tuesday beforenoon, and surely a lot of Danish twitcher will now start to arrive(again)...
